The war on drugs was officially declared in 1971, but has failed us in the past 47 years. The campaign claimed to be created to reduce drug use as it is harmful to the user and to society as a whole. However, it has done more harm than good. Drug overdose and addiction problems have increased. Implementation of drug laws has been applied unjustly toward minorities. Billions are lost annually towards fighting the war on drugs. The goal of this book is to educate individuals about the effects of prohibition and challenge lawmakers to take a stand against laws that are holding us back as a country.
